Postponed Lift your mood with gratitude

Gratitude can help us feel more positive and can reduce anxiety; it improves our sense of connection and in some studies has been found to lead to better sleep.

It is probably the simplest of the ways in which we can benefit ourselves.

These benefits have been found in people who have a regular “gratitude practice” such as reflecting daily what they are grateful for.

I’ll go through other simple gratitude practices in Thursday’s (18th Zoom event).

Gratitude isn’t about the cost or awesomeness of the gifts you get. It’s a quality you have and that you can cultivate or enhance in yourself.

You can be grateful for a sunny day, for someone else’s good fortune (that’s a Buddhist practice called Mudita) and for a myriad of other things.

Question: Is there anything you can do today, maybe something you've been putting off, that you'll be grateful to yourself for tomorrow?

Forthcoming Zoom event

In the “Lift your mood with gratitude” hour, on Thursday 18th December, we will do some practices, including a visualisation, that promote our sense of gratitude.

The event will also be recorded and everybody who books will get access to a video link and also an audio.
